Security forces accused of burning houses in Madaya, Wuntho townships

p4 fake news 1 2

Malicious media is spreading false news that security forces burned the houses in the villages in Madaya township of Mandalay Region and Wuntho township of Sagaing Region on 20 December and that security forces entered Wungyi village yesterday morning and set fire to the houses in the village.
Regarding the news security officials from relevant areas, the security forces are servicing regular security duties there, and no security forces have entered the villages.
Tatmadaw has never done anything that would damage the villages and houses where the people live and has constantly protected the lives and livelihoods of the people from the attacks of terrorists.
Malicious media outlets are making up fake news stories and circulating them to mislead the security forces and the local people and instil fear amongst the public. — MNA/KZL
