Seed Fair 2022 features ICT in agriculture talk show on fourth day

Students are seen visiting the Seed Fair 2022 on the fourth day yesterday.

To increase efficiency in agriculture, the talk show entitled “Let’s use ICT for Agricultural Development” was marked on the fourth day of Seed Fair 2022 (21 February).
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a pivotal role in modern agriculture as it enhances the farmer’s market access and pricing power through digital trading platforms. Moreover, the Call Centre is available for agricultural technology. Young Social Innovators (YSI) also discussed the service provided by the Agriculture Department. The visitors, farmers, the officials concerned, representatives from the private companies and those observers who virtually joined the event from the regions and states also raised the questions and YSI, agricultural experts, answered the questions and discussed closely with them.
Dr Ye Tint Tun, director-general of the Agriculture Department also honoured the commemorative gifts to the YSI engaged in the discussion.
The Seed Fair 2022 is being held at the Institute of Agriculture in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw. The highschool students from the Nay Pyi Taw council Area visited the Fair and purchased the seedlings of the vegetable and fruits for the planting in the backyard. Moreover, the director-general also presented the vegetable seeds to them as presents.
The final day of Seed Fair 2022 (22 February) will showcase the talk show for the development of the seed sector and the officials of the Agriculture Department, the seed companies and on-farm seed producers will join the discussion and so, those enthusiastic are invited to participate in this. — MNA
