Shan State Ethnic Affairs & Vocational Training Centre upgraded into four-storey building

The Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Centre is under construction in Ayethaya City, Taunggyi Township, Shan State. This centre aims to bridge the development gap among Mekong region countries, promote regional stability, law enforcement, and development, facilitate cultural exchange among ethnic communities, and offer vocational courses to enhance the socio-economic well-being of Shan State’s ethnic population.
During his visit to Shan State on 22 October, the Chairman of the State Administration Council inspected the construction progress. He instructed responsible parties to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment at the training centre and ensure suitable living and dining arrangements for trainees when the courses commence. The chairman also emphasized the importance of constructing the building according to specified standards, within the allocated timeframe, and with high-quality materials.
Funded by the state in the 2023-2024 financial year, the training centre’s expansion transformed it from a two-storey to a four-storey building. Upon completion, the centre will serve as a hub for vocational training and discussions on ethnic issues among the local population. — TWA/CT
