According to an executive member of the Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (Shwethaungyan Beach), Daw Cherry Myint, 28,555 domestic and foreign travellers visited Shwethaungyan Beach in January 2024, marking an increase compared to previous periods. With over 20 hotels and guesthouses, Shwethaungyan Beach welcomes travellers throughout the year.
“The beach hosted 28,555 visitors in January 2024, up from 20,556 in December 2023. Visitors, especially those on day trips, choose the beach as their destination. The presence of the Kyaukmaung Nama Elephant Camp Resort contributes to the steady increase in visitors,” said Daw Cherry Myint.
Efforts are underway to maintain cleanliness, landscape the hotel compound, clean hotel corridors, beaches, and public areas and offer local cuisine to visitors. Additionally, rental services for bikes, motorboats, and horses are available, along with stalls selling local souvenirs, food, and gifts. — ASH/ TMT
