Sittway Township to host alms-offering ceremony

Secretary U Win Myint of the Atula Marazein Pyilonechatha Pagoda Board of Trustees said the Sittway Township alms-offering ceremony will be held in the Winkabar ground in front of the pagoda.
Starting from 17 October, donation accepting teams collect donated cash from well-shers and the ceremony will be held on Thadingyut full moon day.
“At this year’s alms-offering ceremony, there will be no theatrical shows despite staging them in previous years. At present, we are collecting the donations by performance of the couple dolls,” said U Win Myint.
It is a plan that a total of 550 members of the Sangha will be offered alms at the Thadingyut Full Moon Day ceremony, and the lighting ceremony will be held in the evening. — ASH/MKKS
