Skynet Shwe Aung Lan Traditional Boxing Tournament to be held for four days

SKYNET Shwe Aung Lan Myanmar Traditional Boxing (Myanma Lethwei) Tournament organized by Shwe Thanlwin Media under the chairmanship of Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation will be held on 25 and 26 June and 3 and 10 July at Theinbyu Traditional Boxing Stadium in Yangon.
The tournament was announced at a press conference held at Shwe Htut Tin Compound on East Horse Race Course Road, Tamway Township, Yangon at 2 pm yesterday.
In the 60-kilo event, Thant Zin, Min Kyaw Za, Saw Mu Htaw Gay, Saw Al Phoo, Saw Ba Hein, Hein Tun Aung, Lin Htet Aung, and Chit Wine Wine will fight for the medal.
The 63.5-kilo event saw young fighters named Almwe, Kyarthwe, Saw Da Weik, Natkhat Min, Zwe Yar Marn, Thet Win Aung, Ko Ko Aung, and Salai Chan Myae Ko.
In the 67-kilo event, Gabar Kyaw, Hanthawady, Gabar Shar, Min Htoo Htoo, Saw Min Min, Marn Min Aung, Ko Naing, and Saw Yay Htoo are running for the championship belt.
Meanwhile, Phoe La Pyae, Min Htet Aung, Saw Min Aung, and Kyel Gyi are competing in the 70-71-kilo event.
The challenging bouts include fights of Htet Naing Aung versus Yukalein Aung and Moe Maung versus Aung Min Htun.
The finals will consist of four rounds of three-minute challenging fights.
The format of the competition will be a knockout and scoring system, and the scoring will be decided by the judges of the Myanmar Boxing Federation.
Fighters across Myanmar will compete in the different
weight classes.
If a tie-breaker is used and the match does not end in a draw, the competition will be played on points.
All matches of the Skynet Shwe Aung Lan Myanmar Traditional Boxing Tournament will be broadcast live on “Skynet Sports-4” and “Skynet Sports-HD” TV channels.
Visitors to the tournament have to pay ticket fees of K5,000, K10,000, and K15,000 for different classes of the seat. — Nay Soe/GNLM
