Social security project covers more than 1.2M insured workers in January

SSB provides healthcare services to insured workers in Shwepyitha and Mingaladon industrial zones with two mobile medical units last year.

A total of 1,235,989 insured workers were covered by healthcare services in January under the Social Security Project, according to the Social Security Board-SSB under the Ministry of Labour.

The Social Security Board-SSB implemented the Social Security Project for the healthcare services to insured workers from the industrial zones in Yangon, Mandalay and Bago regions with three mobile medical units in January.

Similarly, the SSB provides the insured workers with three hospitals owned by SSB, 96 township social security clinics, 60 departmental clinics, 61 contracted clinics, 28 contracted clinics under care of Specialist OG at outpatient department, 14 contracted hospitals/labour rooms for maternity services and a traditional clinic.

Additionally, the SSB has a plan to give the appropriate medical treatment, laboratory tests and ECG tests on 9-15 February to 5,657 insured workers from four workplaces of Shwelinpan Industrial Zone and Hlinethaya township in Yangon with a mobile medical unit, 1,173 insured workers from 13 workplaces in PyinOoLwin township, 2,286 insured workers from 85 workplaces in Gyobingauk township and 837 insured workers from 48 workplaces in Nattalin township. — TWA/MKKS/TTA
