Some 20,000 pilgrims visit Buddha Pujaniya Festival at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda

Approximately 20,000 pilgrims visited the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda during the Buddha Pujaniya Festival, according to U Soe Hla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the pagoda in Kyaikto Township, Mon State.
The opening of the Buddha Pujaniya festival took place in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, on 29 October, during the full moon in the vicinity of Kyaiktiyo Pagoda’s platform.
Departmental officials and pilgrims donated rice and necessary items to the monks and the Buddha Pujaniya Festival will be held from the full-moon day of Thadingyut to the full-moon day of Kason. — ASH/KZW
