State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed by Russian Minister of Defence, meeting held

State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation to attend the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security-2021 (MCIS-2021) was welcomed by Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Army General Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shoigu with the Guard of Honour on 22 June evening.
The Senior General and the Russian Minister of Defence took the salute of the Guard of Honour and inspected it. Then, they introduced their entourage to each other.
Present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were Council Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Council Joint-Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) to the Russian Federation Commodore Kyaw Soe Moe. The Russian Minister of Defence was accompanied by senior officers from the Russian Armed Forces.
At the parlour of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the Senior General and the Russian Minister of Defence exchanged views on further cementing existing friendly relations between the two armed forces of both countries, promotion of cooperation in military technologies, preparations of the Myanmar Tatmadaw to take part in the games and training measures held in the Russian Federation to enhance defence capabilities and further participation, political changes in Myanmar, and further cooperation in various sectors between the two governments and two armed forces.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Russian Defence Minister exchanged emblems and commemorative gifts. — MNA
