State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar holds Kathina robe-offering ceremony for 2022

State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held the Kathina robe-offering ceremony for 2022 at Sasana Maha Beikman of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, attended by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla who donated Kathina robes and offerings.
The Senior General paid homage and offered alms in the alms bowl, flowers, water, oil lights and fruits to the Buddha image in Sasana Beikman.
The Senior General and congregation viewed round the display of Kathina robes, offertories and Padethabin structures to be donated to Masoeyein Taikthit monastery in Thabyaygon Ward of Zabuthiri Township.
The congregation took the Five Precepts from State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman Presiding Nayaka of Bhamo Monastery in Mandalay Abhidhamma Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Kumara Bhivamsa.

The Senior General and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla donated Kathina robes and alms to the Bhamo Sayadaw and Kathina robes and offerings to Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery Agga Maha Gandhavasaka Pandita Bhaddanta Agga Dhamma respectively.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Kathina robes and alms to Secretary of SSMNC Presiding Nayaka of Thanlyin Minkyaung Pahtamapyan Buddhist Learning Centre Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa. The SAC Secretary and wife, the joint secretary and wife, council members and their wives and senior military officers presented Kathina robes and offertories to members of the Sangha.
The Senior General and party took a sermon delivered by Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw and shared merits gained.
After the ceremony, the Senior General, wife and congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha led by Bhamo Sayadaw.
This Kathina robe-offering ceremony for 2022 donated 44 Padethabin structures and K73,643,250. So, the total value of donations amounted to K112,965,850. — MNA
