Taunggyi to host Shan State Day ceremony for six days

A ceremony to mark the Shan State Day, which falls on 7 February, will be held magnificently from 7 to 12 February at the Awayya hot-air balloon field in Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South), according to U Khun Thein Maung, Minister for Economic Affairs of the Shan State Government.
The visitors to the ceremony will be served with foods, and local products will be sold at the market place of the ceremony. Ethnic groups of Shan nationalities will present traditional dances and dressing of traditional costumes at the ceremony.
“In the market of the ceremony, a full range of foodstuffs, consumer goods, cosmetics and clothes will be sold at Awayya hot-air balloon ground,” U Khun Thein Maung said.
In the event, traditional foodstuffs and various local products can be purchased at low prices. — ASH /TKO
