Temporary power outage occurs due to relocation of unsafe power lines during construction of Yangon-Pathein highway

The 33kV Hlinethaya-Hlinethaya (1, 2) Feeder, funded by the Yangon Region Government, is being constructed in Hlinethaya Township, Yangon North District, from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on 13 May to replace the unsaved power lines while expanding the Yangon-Pathein highway.
The Yangon Electric Power Corporation has announced that 33kV Nawade + Shwe Thanlwin Feeder will be temporarily shut down from 9 am to 1 pm on 15 May.
During the temporary shutdown, limited power outages will occur in some parts of Hlinethaya (East) and Hlinethaya (West) townships, but there will be no power outages in important areas, officials said.
In addition, the Yangon City Development Committee performed the cutting and clearing of branches adjacent to the 33kV power line provided by the Department of Engineering (Water and Sanitation) to the Lagunbyin Water Supply Project yesterday.
Officials have also arranged 33kV Hlinethaya West Joint Office to get backup power and 33kV Hlinethaya-Kungyangon power line forAuto Recloser installation.
Dagon Myothit (East) Township, Hlegu Township, Hlinethaya Township (East), Hlinethaya Township (West) and Kungyangon Township faced temporary power outrages from 10 am to 2 pm on 12 May. — TWA/GNLM
