Temporary power outage to be occurred today in some townships of Yangon

Maintenance work on the primary side and secondary side of Thakayta Power Plant 230/33/11 kV, (100) MVA Tr will be carried out from 10 am to 2 pm on 21 August, according to the Yangon Electricity Supply Cooperation.
The YESC has informed the public that there will be temporary power outages in some townships of the Yangon Region including Dagon Myothit (South), Dagon Myothit (Seikkan), Thingangyun, Thakayta and Dawbon townships and they will need to ensure that there are no power outages in important areas.
In order to ensure stable electricity usage for the people who use electricity and the businesses which use electricity in industrial zones, the Ministry of Electricity has established power plants, power lines and substations.
In addition, to meet the growing demand for electricity in the country, hydropower projects and solar power plants, as well as cross-border power lines and the purchase of electricity, are being implemented.
Furthermore, plans are underway to increase the production of electricity using various sources, including wind energy.
In such doing, the 500 kV power line and substation projects are also planned for the stable improvement of the power system and the ability to transfer more power to the power lines that are full of load, U Thaung Han, Union Minister of the Ministry of Electric Power, said in a meeting about the conditions of electricity distribution to industrial zones in Yangon Region on 13 August. — Htun Htun/GNLM
