After basic sewing machine operator training course organized by the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) was conducted, nearly tens of thousands of jobs have been created in garment businesses for those who wanted to work in garment factories, according to the training school.
In each batch, there are trainees from 20, 40, 50 to 80 trainees from Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, Magway Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine State and Shan State, in addition to Yangon Region, said a female trainer from the school.
It was opened with the aim of creating job opportunities and they have been helping in finding jobs for job seekers from other regions and states and those who are interested in working in garment factories to find jobs after completing the training course, she said.
“After the training course completed, we make connection for them with MGMA member garment factories. When there are vacancies at factories, we send them there after they complete the course. As of around 2012 to date, we assisted the creation of nearly tens of thousands of employment. Of trainees, some are working in factories and there are people working at home,” she said.
MGMA’s basic sewing machine operator training course batch 232 will be conducted at Myanmar Garment Human Resources Development Training Centre (MGHRDC) from 22 January to 9 February 2024.
