Some pro-terrorists from KNU, KKO (splinter group), and PDF terrorists yesterday collusively attacked the security forces near the No 2 Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Myawady Township, Kayin State. The coalition group apparently employed heavy weapons, drop bombs and excessive strengths against the security troops. These attacks instilled fear among residents on both sides of the border.
The security forces repelled the assault with air supporting fire, ensuring minimal disruption to border peace. Following “substantial” losses, attackers reportedly withdrew to the western side of the town by 5 pm. — MNA/NT
