Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe and commission member U Aung Moe Myint will be attending the 5th General Assembly of Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) at the invitation of South African election commission and A-WEB in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Chairman of UEC and party departed from Yangon by air yesterday morning. The delegation was seen off by members of the UEC U Aung Saw Win and U Saw Ba Hlaing and officials from the Yangon Region election sub-commission at the Yangon International Airport.
The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) was founded in 2013 with 119 election organizations from 109 countries including Myanmar. The assembly will run in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 to 22 October. —MNA
