Union Information Minister visits solar cell manufacture base, steel factory in Yunnan

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn paid a visit to the high-quality solar cell manufacture base of Yunnan Runyang Century Photovoltaic Technology Company in Nanhai industrial zone of Qujing Jingkai District of Yunnan on 20 August.
The project was started in February 2023 covering a total area of 210,000 square metres of construction area. It will include 36 factories that will generate 550 Mega watt respectively. Currently, the construction of three factories was completed and the transmission of the first phase was begun on 1 July.
The Union minister headed to the steel factory of Yunnan Qujing Chenggang Iron and Steel (Group) Co Ltd. The factory was established in 2004. The Chenggang Group currently operates 16 business units employing over 10,000 employees. The group has been leading businesses out of 100 top businesses in Yunnan for 10 successive years. The products of Chenggang are being used in large projects like Baihetam hydropower station, the world’s second-largest hydropower station, Changghni international airport, Shanghai–Kunming high-speed railway, Xikum.
The Union minister yesterday received Mr Yi Homs, CEO of China International Cooperation Association of SMES Executive Director of Global Business and discussed the future of e-commerce in digital businesses of China-Southeast Asia and South Asia.
The Mekong-Lancang countries, Japan, England, India and Korea discuss the information received and exchanged regarding their businesses, culture, transportation and trading at the Web Portal.
The Union minister coordinated the discussion and raised questions that he wanted to know.
On arrival at the RUIHEJC Company established in 1994, the Union minister heard the brief of services of the company regarding the providence of information and technology for transport systems based on online logistics channels.
Moreover, it runs a two-way transport system including cross-border transport, expresses way, rail and sea routes.
The company is situated in the Yunnan Province, a strategic position of South Asia and Southeast Asia, and offers services in China and implements a “one-junction, two-ocean” strategy with new land and sea routes with access to the Indian Ocean via Myanmar. — MNA/KTZH
