Union Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with Brunei Darussalam Foreign Minister II via videoconference

U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held discussions with Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei Darussalam, current Chair of ASEAN, via videoconference at 2:00 pm on 11 February 2021 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the discussion, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs apprised the Brunei Foreign Minister on the recent developments in Myanmar. The two Foreign Ministers cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the promotion of existing bilateral relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Brunei Darussalam including closer collaboration in ASEAN on the basis of ASEAN solidarity and unity.
The Union Minister also congratulated Brunei Darussalam for assuming the Chairmanship of ASEAN and reaffirmed Myanmar’s commitment to extend fullest support and cooperation to Brunei Darussalam’s ASEAN Chairmanship and on the priorities and deliverables as well as to further advance the ASEAN Community building endeavours.—MNA
