Vegetable, Fruit and Horticultural show, awarding ceremony in commemoration of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day held in Yangon

The opening ceremony of the Yangon Region Chief Minister’s Cup Vegetable, Fruit and Horticultural Show and awarding ceremony were held in commemoration of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day at Maha Myaing Island in Kandawgyi Natural Park in Bahan Township of Yangon Region yesterday.
The event was held with the aims of studying advanced cultivation methods of vegetables, fruits and flowers by the people, distributing high-quality strains, improving the socio-economic development of growers and contributing to the economic development of the nation through vegetable, fruit and flower cultivation.
It was attended by Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and his wife, regional government officials and wives, judges, departmental officials, members of Myanmar Horticulturist Association and partner organizations and other invited guests.
First, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and Yangon regional ministers cut the ribbon to launch the ceremony.
Then, the commander gave an opening speech and observed the displayed fruits, vegetables, flowers and landscaping.At noon, the award ceremony was held at Western Park of Myay Pedetha Kyun and the commander and ministers presented awards to the winners in categories of the event.—Nyein Thu (MNA)/KTZH
