Vessel MV Weru Pack Kha delivers relief supplies to Rakhine State

In line with the guidance of the National Disaster Management Committee, the Transport and Communication Work Committee has meticulously planned and overseen the transport of essential relief aid and materials to Rakhine State. Departing from the Myanmar Terminal (TMT) port, the MV Weru Pack Kha set sail for Sittway yesterday morning, carrying a diverse range of relief supplies.
Among the cargo were 34.84 tonnes of electric towers and associated materials, 20 transformers, 464 tonnes of timber, 57,333 CI sheets, tents, 144 rolls of tarpaulin, 297 bags of rice (each containing 24 pyis), 1,971 rice bags of various sizes, 668 bags of salt, as well as edible oil, dried noodles, dried fish, canned food, and other essential foodstuffs. Additionally, the vessel transported clothing, consumer goods, and an extensive array of rescue equipment, weighing 1,294.47 tonnes, including medicines. These supplies were generously provided by various ministries and government entities, including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Electric Power and Energy, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Yangon Region government, and Myanmar Economic Corporation.
From 5 May until 13 June, a total of 16 vessels delivered a remarkable 22,817.12 tonnes of aid and relief materials to Rakhine State. This comprehensive assistance encompasses construction materials, electrical equipment, medical supplies, consumer goods, and vital food items. The concerted efforts of these relief missions aim to alleviate the hardships faced by the affected communities in Rakhine State. — MNA/CT
