Shan United, Rakhine United win over opponents in MNL Cup on 26 April

Shan United FC trounced Rainbow 7-0 in Padonma Stadium in a Group-B match. Albeit facing a loss in the last match of the first leg, Shan United led the group table till 26 April with a win over Rainbow.
Shan United changed its lineup of players to include citizen players. In the 20th minute, Shan United scored the opening goal. The team translated its opportunities into three goals in the first half and four more in the second half. Nanda Kyaw scored one goal in the 20th minute for Shan United, Htet Phyo Wai one more goal in the 34th minute, Thurein Tun in the 45th minute, Motohiro in the 49th, 56th and 67th minutes as a hat-trick and Sa Aung Pyae in the 88th minute.
At the Youth Training Centre in Thuwunna, Rakhine United beat Glory Goal 2-0. Veteran player Kyaw Ko Ko scored two goals in the 54th and 76th minutes for his team.
In Group B, Shan United and Rakhine United secured 12 points each in five matches, Kachin United nine points in four matches, Glory Goal three points in five games and Rainbow FC without points in five losses.
On 27 April (today), Silver Star FC will play against Hanthawady United at Thuwunna Stadium, whereas Dagon Star United will take on Dagon Port at University Stadium as Group-C matches. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
