Yangon City Taxi Association starts selling city taxi boards

The Yangon City Taxi Association (YCTA) began selling city taxi boards on 24 October, and these boards are scheduled to be installed on taxis operating in Yangon.
City taxi boards are of various sizes and colours and are installed at different locations on the taxis. The YRTC has clarified that, under Section 273 (A) of the Vehicle Safety and Motor Vehicle Management Law, taxis must uniformly display the specified sign to ensure consistency with the city’s features and the prevailing rules and regulations. The fixed price for taxi boards is K12,000, but members of the YCTA are eligible to purchase them at a discounted rate of K10,000. Taxi owners interested in purchasing taxi boards can obtain them at the YCTA office located in Dagon Myothit (North) Township.
The YRTC has announced an awareness period extending until 8 December for the installation of boards on taxis operating within the city. After the 90-day period concludes on 9 December, enforcement measures will be implemented. — TWA/CT
