Yangon-Mandalay railway detonated by terrorists

PDF terrorists attacked with landmines near bridge No 736, Mileposts 353/3 and 353/4, between the Minsu Station and Kyaukse Station, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, yesterday.
Due to the damage to the concrete sleepers on the bridge approach and the shifting of the tracks, the railway sections between Minsu and Kyaukse were temporarily closed. The No 5 Up Yangon-Mandalay passenger express train arrived and stopped at Myitthar Station at 7:20 am yesterday.
Security forces and officials went to the scene of the mine explosion promptly and carried out the area security and mine clearance.
Insurgent groups have committed 130 mining and destruction of railways and train stations, 46 mining of train bridges, and 12 burning of station buildings and staff homes in the entire Myanmar railway network from 1 February 2021 until now.
To make public travel and freight transport convenient, smooth, and fast, the national government plans and implements project activities to improve the railway infrastructure and upgrade the train transport system.
Insurgents have repeatedly committed damage to state-owned locomotives, coaches and goods, so people strongly oppose and condemn the brutality of these terrorists, according to the statement. — MNA/KZL
