Yangon-Mandalay special train starts running from 8 March

The Yangon-Mandalay special train started operating on 8 March, according to U Thaung Htaik, Chief Superintendent of Yangon railway station under Myanma Railways.

The special train service will be operated every Friday and Sunday from 8 March, leaving Yangon at 10:00 am and arriving at Mandalay at 3:15 am. Similarly, it will leave Mandalay at 9:30 pm and arrive back in Yangon at 2:45 pm.

“The Yangon-Mandalay special train starts on 8 March, and the train ticket prices are set at K12,000 for ordinary class and K24,000 for upper class. The train will stop at Bago, Toungoo, Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw, and Thazi stations,” U Thaung Htaik said.

Currently, the Yangon-Mandalay express trains and mail trains that run daily on the Yangon-Mandalay railway have been suspended since 26 December 2023, and 5-up train and 6-down train on Yangon-Mandalay railway are being operated. — ASH/TKO
