Yangon-Mawlamyine new train starts tonight

In order to faciliate the travel of passengers by train, Myanma Railways stated running the Yangon-Mawlamyaine night train from 8 pm tonight.
The new No 81-up train departed at 8 pm from Yangon Railway Station and arrived in Mawlamyine station at 4:45 am. No 82-down train will depart at 8 pm from Mawlamyaine station on 12 December and will be arrive in Yangon at 4:55 am.
This new train includes five ordinary class carriages, five upper class carriages and one guard coach. Each upper class carriage can accommodate 33 passengers and ordinary class, 68 passengers.
The train that will leave Yangon Railway Station will stop over for passengers to get on and off at Toegaunggale, Bago, Thaton and Paung stations.
“Myanma Railways is trying to meet the needs of passengers as much as possible. Looking at the needs of passengers in the future, Myanma Railways will fulfill the needs of passengers,” said U Zaw Lwin, Regional Manager.
Yangon-Mawlamyine night train tickets for the new trip will be sold 3 days in advance at Yangon Railway Station and passengers can show citizenship scrutiny cards for purchase of tickets. The ticket price is K7,050 per person for the upper class and K 3,550 for ordinary class.— Nay Lin (MNA)/KZW
