Yangon mayor inspects urban greenery activities

Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay, in his capacity as chair of Yangon Region City Development Committee inspected the compound of YCDC’s Maugon housing in Mingala Taungnyunt Township yesterday and observed the market to offer the groceries at fairer prices, and ensure the compliance of the COVID-19 preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
Afterwards, the Yangon Mayor inspected the reconstruction of the wooden bridge between the entrance to Karaweik and Tezadipa island in Kandawgyi Park, the land preparation to plant grass for new lawn, cutting overhanding trees and branches and trimming the high hedges on the streets and pavements at Yangon University of Economics in Kamayut Township and greenery activities from Marlar Hall to the University of Yangon. The mayor directed the officials concerned regarding growing the grass for new lawns and constructing the bikeway pavements near Mingala Lake in Mingaladon Township.
After that, he instructed the officials to fulfill the needs after inspecting the rock fragments to prevent soil erosion at pier 4 of Shwepyitha Bridge and repair for broken bottom chords at pier 6.—MNA
