YRIC endorses eight foreign enterprises with over US$6 mln

The Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC) greenlit eight foreign enterprises with an estimated capital of US$6.399 million at the meeting 1/2024 held on 30 January, creating more than 6,500 jobs for locals.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, chairperson of the YRIC, gave a remark that the committee is exerting continuous efforts to spur to investments, support existing businesses, entice new investors, increase job opportunities in the region and enhance the socio-economy of the local community.
At the meeting, the committee gave the go-ahead for seven wholly foreign enterprises and one joint venture in the manufacturing sector. Those businesses will manufacture the wearing apparel on a cutting-making and packaging basis, manufacturing plastic bags for domestic markets only, manufacturing rubber wood for export only and manufacturing carton boxes for packaging used in the CMP enterprises.
Seven companies also raised general matters at the meeting, and the officials concerned coordinated the issues. — NN/EM
