106 projects successfully executed via Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund

A total of 106 projects at the value of US$31.6 million have been implemented from the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund, according to the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
The sectors under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation are the most approved projects as the ministry is implementing the projects by proposing to the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund in 2017.
As long as the development of the agriculture sector is the main factor to focus on with a total of nearly 700,000 people in Myanmar living in rural areas and depending on agricultural work, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation implements a total of 35 projects including 18 projects in the crop sector, three in the livestock sector, two in the fisheries sector, eight in agricultural education capacity-building and research, two in improving the socioeconomic sector and two in the development of agricultural statistics.
The high-quality products have to be exported to the international market with improving production capacity. — TWA/MKKS
