15th COMMIT SOM, RTF Meetings held in Nay Pyi Taw

The 15th Coordinated Mekong Ministerial Initiative against Trafficking-(COMMIT) Senior Official Meeting- (SOM15) and Regional Task Force Meeting-(RTF) held a videoconference on 23 and 24 November in Anti-Human Trafficking Police Force in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting was attended by departmental representatives led by Police Brig-Gen Myint Htoo of the Anti-Human Trafficking Police Force and COMMIT member countries such as representatives of Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam and representatives from the COMMIT Secretariat.
They discussed relevant events in the meetings such as the achievements of the countries in the Mekong Sub-Region from the implementation of the 4th Sub-Regional Plan of Action-SPA IV, perfect experiences and challenging difficulties, to element the conditions of the 5th Sub-Regional Plan of Action-SPA V, the conditions to be implemented for the long-term development of the COMMIT process, Transnational Referral Mechanism (TRM) (Draft) approval issues, and issues of cooperation in combatting human trafficking crimes caused by abuse of technology. — MNA/TS
