26.25 tonnes of restricted chemicals seized in Mohnyin Township

The Myanmar Police Force reported the seizure of 26.25 tonnes of prohibited chemical (ammonium nitrate) in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State.
Following a tip-off, a combined team comprising members of the security force intercepted and searched two Yangfond vehicles. The first vehicle, driven by Than Soe Aung (also known as La Pyae) with Thet Naing Oo (also known as Phoe Pain) as the passenger, and the second vehicle, driven by Phyo Thu Kyaw with Win Hein as the passenger, was stopped near Kyagyi Kwin village in Mohnyin township at 2 pm on 16 March. During the search, the security force discovered 26.25 tonnes of prohibited chemicals. Legal action has been initiated against the offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the case. — MNA/MKKS
