8th State Sangha Central Working Committee holds 3rd Meeting

The eighth State Sangha Central Working Committee’s third meeting in progress.

The 3rd Meeting of Eighth State Sangha Central Working Committee was held at Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region yesterday.
The meeting was attended by State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, State Sangha Working Committee member Sayadaws, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and other officials of relevant departments.
State Sangha Central Working Committee Chairman Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Setthila acted as the master of ceremonies.
Then, the MC Sayadaw reported on the numbers of attendees to the meeting and announced the event was successful as 80 per cent of Sayadaws joined the event.
The Sayadaws then recited the relevant sermons for three times at the meeting.
They presented the procedures of meetings to be held on 11, 12 and 13 March and sought the approvals.
Afterwards, State Ovadacariya Sayadaws delivered the sermons.
The Committee Chairman Sayadaw then gave Saraniya Ovada to start the meeting.
Union Minister U Ko Ko presented the religious affairs.
They then took records of deceased Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, State Sangha Central Working Committee Sayadaws and Tipitakadhara, Tipitaka Kovida and Tipikadhaka Dhamma Bhandagarika from Taboung 1383 ME to date.
Then, they approved the names of newly selected State Ovadacariya Sayadaws and State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws.
The summary records of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee conducted from Taboung 1383 ME to date was read out by Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Candina Bhivamsa and concluded the first session of meeting.
During the second session of meeting at noon, Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Setthila discussed the suggestions submitted by the State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws.
Finally, the respective Sayadaws presented summary reports of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and concluded the meeting.
Donor U Thein Maung and wife Daw Papa, Sandi indigenous medicine shop, offered alms for the whole day to the Sayadaws who attended the ceremony yesterday. — MNA
