Cash, offertories donated to Sitagu Sayadaw, pro-rector of State Pariyatti University in Mandalay

Union Minister U Ko Ko and party donate cash and offertories to the Sitagu Sayadaw on 22 February 2021.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko donated offertories and cash funds to the Sitagu Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara at the Sitagu International Vipassana Academy in Sagaing Township yesterday.

The Union Minister and party also paid homage to the pro-rector (Admin) Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kesara and the leading monks of the State Pariyatti University at Aungmyaethazan Township in Mandalay Region, and donated offertories and cash funds.

During the donations, the Union Minister said about reopening of the pagodas including Shwedagon and Maha Muni Buddha Image, propagation of Buddha Sasana, holding annual Pariyatti exams and other religious exams for Buddhist text, religious title conferring ceremony and the meetings of 47-membered State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.

The Union Minister and party also held a meeting with religious communities at the National Theatre in Aungmyaethazan Township and offered assistance.—MNA
