Shan State former finance and planning minister U Soe Nyunt Lwin arrested

U Soe Nyunt Lwin was arrested for the crime against the government yesterday.

Deputy Township Administrative Officer U Sai Kyaw Tun of Taunggyi filed a direct complaint to the court against former finance and planning minister of Shan State government U Soe Nyunt Lwin, aged 50, son of U Maung Son, who lives at No (3/14), Ayeyawady street in Phayar Phyu Ward of Taunggyi Township in Shan State (South) for committing the crime that affects the government and State peace and tranquillity on 16 February. Taunggyi township court opened the case under Penal Code Section 505(b) and conducted measures to arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, according to the tip-off, the suspect was hiding at the house of U Aung Zaw Thant, located at the corner of Wai Za Yan Tar and Pyithayar streets in South Okkapala Township of Yangon Region. The security forces raided the house at about 1 am yesterday and arrested U Soe Nyunt Lwin. U Aung Zaw Thant, son of U Tin Aung, U Min Min, son of U Tin Hla and U Ye Hlaing, son of U Hla Tun will face action in accordance with the law for accepting U Soe Nyunt Lwin.—MNA
