129th Maha Pathana recitation occasion completes successfully

The Union Minister and concregation are taking nine precepts from the Pauk Myaing Sayadaw.

The closing ceremony of 129th Maha Pathana recitation was held at Upatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The Ovada Cariya of pagoda Presiding Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Monastery Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and wife, Deputy Minister U Tun Ohn and wife, Permanent Secretary U Myint Oo and wife and members of pagoda board of trustees attended the ceremony.
Union Minister U Ko Ko and party firstly took nine precepts from Pauk Myaing Sayadaw Baddanta Janinda and then the monks recited Parittas. Union Minister and party also donated the offertories to the Sayadaws.
Then, the Union Minister and attendees shared merits after the sermons of Sayadaw and the ceremony ended with a three-time recitation of Buddha Sasana Ciram Titthatu.
The Union Minister and officials donated ‘Day meals’ to the Sayadaws and monks. — MNA
