Land administration central committee holds 1st coordination meeting

Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo presides over the first coordination meeting of the land administration central committee yesterday.

The Central Committee on Administration of Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Lands organized a coordination meeting yester- day.
During the meeting, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo, in his capacity as chairman of the committee, highlighted policies of the State Administration Council to ensure food security and to develop the agriculture and livestock-based production sector, all-round development of other sectors of the economy, strict measures to ban the city projects and SEZs in farmland areas.
The Union Minister also discussed the applications for the use of vacant, fallow and virgin lands and the duties of relevant committees to scrutinize the applications for using lands.
Then, U Thet Naing Oo, secretary of the central committee, presented the documents to decide and the attendees to the meeting coordinated the discussion from their respective sectors.
The meeting also discussed the formation of region/state land management committee under the Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Law Section 3-a reviews on the remarks made by the ministries in former and current government terms and other lawsuits submitted to the central committee under Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Law Section 8-a (b).
The central committee will confiscate the unused land according to the stipulations in Rules and take action against those failing to pay land revenue in line with the law. — MNA
