Construction still continues for public rental housings, retired service personnel rental housings

The Ministry of Construction places emphasis on the development of the urban sector with arrangements to implement the housing projects for the convenience of the local people, said Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay in meeting with entrepreneurs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
On arrival at the public rental housing project and retired State service personnel rental housing project in Dekkhinathiri Township, the Union minister explained that the government aims to fulfil the housing requirements of the people and service personnel in populous Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.
In this regard, he continued that 28 buildings with 448 apartments are under construction in Nay Pyi Taw. The Union minister urged officials from Project Management Unit and private entrepreneurs to ensure timely completion of the project.
Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Maung Maung Naing pledged to provide assistance for local people and retired service personnel from housing projects to have convenient housing arrangements so as to develop Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
The Union Minister and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman inspected the construction of five-storey four-unit public housings with 614 square feet of each apartment, and five-storey four-unit retired service personnel housings with 650 square feet area of each apartment.
The projects are jointly implemented by the Department of Urban and Housing Development and the private entrepreneurs’ group. —MNA
