Hundreds imprisoned for unlawful violence in Kayin state

The Hpa-an Township Court sentenced 126 arrested persons between 4 and 17 June for participating in unlawful violence in Kayin State.
Among them, 60 culprits were sentenced to two years in prison with labour under Section 505 (A) of the Penal Code; one culprit was sentenced to three months in prison with labour under Section 505 (A) of the Penal Code; two culprits month each in prison under Section 188 of the Penal Code for violating the curfew; 14 culprits were sentenced to 7 days in prison under Section 47 of the Police Act for rioting on 10 May; 49 culprits were sentenced to one month each in prison under Section 188 of the Penal Code.
It is reported that the State Administration Council is working for the rule of law under the law to ensure peace and security of the people in the country. —MNA
