Policies of Ministry of Information will not be changed during the period of Provisional Government: Union Information Minister

A ceremony to present reports on work progress in respective departments of the Ministry of Information to Union Minister for Information and for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn took place at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
In his speech, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn stressed the need to continue the existing works under the prevention and control plans of COVID-19 with momentum despite setting the long office holidays due to severe infection of the disease. The policies of the Ministry of Information will not be changed during the period of Provisional Government but a new presentation must be created. Hence, the Union Minister urged all to discuss the presentation and undertakings in accord with the current situation in addition to the existing performances.
The Union Minister said that as the Ministry is media, it cannot take any delay for the work process. Some measures must be taken in a speedy and correct manner. The Ministry of Information, a State-level department, will be carried out for staff affairs and policies as usual but necessary measures must be changed. While holding up the policies, the works must be shaped in entertainment.
The Ministry of Information must present the firmed and correct news as a media to secure the success of the State goal. Likewise, it is necessary to coordinate with those from motion pictures, dramatic performers and musicians to contribute to the future State. As such, the Union Minister urged all to give suggestions for better creativities and changes.
Deputy Minister U Ye Tint discussed efforts of media under the Ministry of Information to further raise public awareness.
Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, directors-general and managing directors reported on the work progress of respective departments.
The Union Minister gave a remark after coordinating their reports. —MNA
