IDPs, residents in Sittway Tsp keep getting vaccinated with Sinovac

People over 45-year-old in IDP camps in Sittway Township, Rakhine State, continued to be vaccinated with Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine in the multi-purpose cyclone shelter in Thechaung village.
Before the vaccination, health workers and medical personnel from the Sittway station ensured personal health conditions are normal. The vaccinated people were allowed to leave at 30 minutes after the injection.
Regarding the vaccination, U Maung Maung Sein, in-charge of the Thechaung IDP, said, “We have been able to vaccinate 300 people in the camp and today there will be about 300 more.”
“I was vaccinated in April. We have heard that vaccination does not endanger our lives, even if we are infected,” he continued.
“I urge people living in the camp to be vaccinated, and I would like to thank health workers and Tatmadaw medical teams who have come and arranged the vaccination,” he added.
U Abdul Salin, who lives in the Thechaung IDP camp said, “We have known that COVID-19 disease is prevented by being vaccinated and that is why I came here today to receive the vaccine.”
The COVID-19 vaccines are also being administered to the residents of Thechaung village at the multi-purpose cyclone shelter and people over the age of 45 from IDP camps in Sittway Township have been vaccinated with Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine in Thatkepyin village since 28 August.
Department of General Administration, personnel from the Department of Information and Public Relations, Myanmar Police Force, Red Cross Society, ward/township administrators, in-charge of the IPD camps and officials are coordinating necessary matters for the vaccination process.
