Healthcare officials gave the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines to over 18-year-old people with disabilities at St. Aloysius Orphanage in Nawnghkio Township, Kyaukme District, northern Shan State on 16 November.
The vaccines (for the first time) are given to people with disabilities over the age of 18. The current vaccine is Sinopharm, manufactured in the People’s Republic of China. The vaccines are given to five people each and 28 people with disabilities were vaccinated, officials said.
Vaccination activities are documented by officials followed by measuring body temperatures, blood pressure, and monitoring oxygen levels.
Vaccines were given systematically to the people, and only those with normal health conditions are vaccinated.
Resting for about 30 minutes after being vaccinated, people were given healthcare education and then allowed to leave, according to the township COVID-19 disease prevention and control committee. — Htway Nge (IPRD)/GNLM
