UDNR holds 4th five-year education degree course graduation ceremony

The University for the Development of the National Races held the Graduation Ceremony of the 5-year Education Degree Course No (4) and issued the recruitment certificate to the graduates yesterday morning in Sagaing Region. The ceremony was held following the COVID-19 rules and regulations.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung said the State Administration Council is implementing the Five-Point Roadmap and Nine Objectives, and the Ministry of Border Affairs is also working hard for the development in border areas and human resources development.
He said the University for the Development of the National Races (Sagaing) was established to provide the national races with higher education to develop education officers who would involve in the development of human resources and socio-economic development in the border areas.
Since the opening of the University, there have been 131 people who completed the master’s degrees in education; 35 graduates of the master of philosophy in education; 4,109 graduates in education; 932 who completed the diploma in teaching; 956 who completed the diploma in secondary teaching; 461 who completed the special primary teacher training course and 7,162 who completed the primary teacher training course; altogether 13,786 young people were graduated.
The Union minister underscored the need for the teachers to constantly study modern subjects in training human resources as they play a vital role in developing human resources who face the challenges of the developing world. He urged the graduates to become dutiful and ethical civil servants and become leaders who would promote the socio-economic lives of the people in border areas.
Afterwards, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region awarded the outstanding students and the Permanent Secretary handed over the recruitment certificates to 272 graduates. After the ceremony, the Union Minister cordially met the graduates. On 22 November, on behalf of the State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister, the Union minister hosted a dinner in honour of the graduates at the Convocation Hall and on the lawn. — MNA
