Workers in Pakokku receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccines

officials gave COVID-19 vaccines (1st dose) to insured workers who are covered by the social security system under the social security programme at Myanmar Efforts Garment Factory Company, Pantaingchyon Village, Pakokku Township, Magway Region on 2 December.
Deputy staff officer of Pakokku Township General Administration Department Daw Mya Nwe Khaing, Township Social Welfare Branch Officer Daw Yin Yin Htwe, staff and factory workers cooperated in the vaccination programme.
Vaccination activities were documented by officials followed by measuring body temperatures, blood pressure, and monitoring oxygen levels.
Staff from the Township Public Health Department vaccinated COVID-19 (first time) against 880 people – 41 males and 839 females.
Myanmar Efforts Garment Company is a Hong Kong branch and a total of 1,074 workers: 19 garment factory workers and 1,055 insured workers are working for the company, and 206 people have been vaccinated in the vicinity.
Daw Yin Yin Htwe, in charge of the township social welfare office, said that the project will be carried out in collaboration with the members of the township Covid committee under the social security programme to prevent the spread of the virus in factories, workplaces and companies. — Salai Ko Kee (MA)/GNLM
