Myanmar women’s team to play int’l friendlies in January

The Myanmar women’s team will play international friendly matches in January before the final round of the 2022 Asian Cup Women’s Football Championship, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
The Myanmar squad is undergone training with more than 30 players as tentatively selected players.
The Myanmar women’s team has been under training in Mandalay from early December to mid-month and will return to Yangon in the coming days, officials said.
The team will travel abroad in early January before the Asian Cup to compete in international tournaments, officials added.
The final round of the 2022 Asian Women’s Cup will take place in India from 20 January to 6 February, 2022. Team Myanmar will face defending champions Japan and Asian powerhouse South Korea in the Group C. They are also in the same group with ASEAN star Vietnam.
This is the fifth time the team Myanmar has qualified for the finals of the AFC Asian Cup and has won the Qualifiers again this year.—Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
