Sufficiently generate hydropower, efficiently consume electricity

Myanmar is teeming with various types and sizes of water sources throughout the nation. These water sources are essential for generating electricity for public consumption and industrial use.
Electricity can be generated from water sources, windmills, mini-grids of solar power and diesel generators. Among them, hydropower projects mushrooming not only in hilly regions but also beside the speedy current rivers and creeks can be seen the length and breadth of the nation.
On his inspection tour of the Yeywa hydropower plant, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said Upper and Middle Yeywa and Deedok hydropower projects must be continued. Generating electricity with the use of LNG is very expensive. Priority must be given to generating renewable energy such as hydropower and solar power. It is necessary to invite local and foreign companies to generate solar power.
In the term of democratic governments, they strived for generating hydropower but they politically utilized the environmental impacts caused as problems in the implementation of the hydropower projects, the Prime Minister added.
Implementation of hydropower is based on larger investment and expenditure can be calculated, its benefit is invaluable. Up to now, the cost of the Yeywa hydropower plant has been covered. As generating electricity is still in progress, its surplus benefits have contributed much to the socio-economy of the people and the development of the State. Truly, the generation of hydropower costs cheaper among other ways of generating electricity. Missing the chance of generating hydropower at full capacity brings a loss to the State. Efforts must be made for the hydropower projects as quickly as possible to electrify the people. One day earlier completion of the project will benefit the people and the State one day ahead of the target.
Hydropower plants need to be attached to the irrigation facilities not only to irrigate the cultivable lands but to electrify the people. Saving the electricity consumption by individuals can reduce the production charge of the work process. Moreover, surplus electricity from reduced consumption can be provided for others. So, such a plan will be a win-win situation between reduction and consumption of electricity.

Power stations are running their functions to generate electricity day after day. But, the electricity consumption rate is higher and higher. The practice of individually saving electricity will benefit both the State and the people.
