Mongyawng residents hold traditional new year festivals

The Mongyawng locals celebrate their traditional new year festivals.

The residents of Mongyawng Township in Tachilek District of Shan State (East) celebrated their traditional new year festivals beginning October 2021 and the villagers of Ayechan, Aungmyay and Zayhti villages also held celebrations yesterday.
The pastors lead the ethnic traditional new year festival according to traditions and people donated paddy, corn, peanut, sesame, chilli and other seasonal crops to their devotees for good deeds.
During the festival, the people living far from their natives return to their relatives and host family meals with their friends.
The traditional new year festivals of ethnic people in Mongyawng Township were convened in Ayechan, Aungmyay, Zayhti, Namsilin, Parsan, Shaykhin and Ziohn villages this year. — Sai Aung Zaw Lin/GNLM
