Illegal teak, unregistered vehicle seized in Bago, Sagaing regions

Supervised by the Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, efforts are being made to take action against illegal trade across the country.
On 14 March, combined inspection teams led by the Bago Region Department of Forest conducted inspections according to a report and confiscated 61.7092 tonnes of illegal teak logs (approximately worth K2,709,414) from a forest reserve in Bago District.
Similarly, combined inspection teams under the management of the Sagaing Region Anti-illegal Trade Special Task Force conducted inspections in Sagaing and seized an unregistered Honda Partner car (approximately worth K3,500,000), and action is taken under the Export/Import Law. Therefore, two arrests (estimated value of K6,209,414) were made on 14 March, according to the Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
