U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received Cambodian delegation led by Dr Kung Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the Office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair at 11:30 am on 9 June 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the call, the deputy minister acknowledged Cambodia’s effort as the Chair of ASEAN providing support for Myanmar with regard to the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus of the ASEAN. He also reiterated that the implementation process of the Five-Point Consensus needs enough time since there are unforeseen difficulties on the ground and measures must be practical to have substantive progress. Dr Kung Phoak expressed Cambodia’s continued support to facilitate the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus in cooperation with the Government of Myanmar.—MNA
