Over K300 mln worth of drugs seized in Namhkam, Shan State (North)

Heroin and stimulant tablets worth over K300 million were confiscated in Namhkam, northern Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
On 21 June at 8 pm, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a Toyota Hilux Revo car heading from Muse to Namhkam, driven by Khar Aung at No 1 Mantkham Ward, Namhkam Township of Shan State (North), according to the information and seized 5.94 kilogrammes of heroin and 0.222 million stimulant tablets worth over K300 million.
After the investigation, the suspect admitted that the seized drugs were to be carried from Kutkai to Namhkam Township. Police are conducting further investigations and the suspect is being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, stated the MPF. — MNA
