Myanmar to play Brunei today in U-19 ASEAN Football Championship

Myanmar U-19 boy’s football team will take on Brunei U-19 team today in the U-19 ASEAN Football Championship, which is hosted by Indonesia.Team Myanmar match will start at 2:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time while Thailand will play against the Philippines at 4:30 pm and Viet Nam meet host Indonesia at 8 pm.
According to the drawing-lots, Myanmar is placed in Group A with host Indonesia, Viet Nam, Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines. Meanwhile, Group B sees Malaysia, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Laos.
Team Myanmar needs a victory in the opening match as the team is falling into a tough group.
A pre-press conference for the tourney was held on 1 July and coaches from the ASEAN teams attended the event.
“Our team had nine weeks of training time for this competition. As we all know, Group A is a tight group and we have to face good teams. But I will do my best,” said Head Coach U Soe Myat Min of team Myanmar during the press conference. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
