According to the Magway Region’s Tourism Committee, about K656 million was earned from the arrivals of domestic and foreign visitors to Magway Region from January to August.
Regional Tourism Committee is planning safe and secure travel and peaceful and happy stay for foreign tourists.
“Officials are planning for regional development in the first step of tourist entry of the Magway-Mingbu-Minhla-Thayet-Aunglan-Taungdwingyi trips.
“According to the regional tourism committee, we will also identify possible places for tourism promotion in the region that will attract the local market, eco-tourism and Community-Based Tourism,” officials said.
The famous places of Magway Region include Myathalun Pagoda, Kankaw Tahtaung Pagoda, Mann Shwesettaw, Sale Yokesone Monastery, Ancient Beikthanoe City and Sun Hill (Chun Hill), the highest mountain in the Rakhine Yoma Mountain Range.
“During this period, there were few tourists due to the local conditions. There was an increase in domestic tourists. There were places that could be reached from Bagan in a row, so tourists came. There are guesthouses and hotels, and the price is not too high,” Ko Htin Lin, a local visitor, told GNLM.
There are 43 hotels, motels and lodges in Magway Region.
“Hotel and lodge room fees to be reasonable, and to provide good service is important. As it is the rainy season, the hotel environment should be clean and beautiful, and the tourists should be informed about the destination in their region through various methods including the website.
For the systematic resurgence of tourism, the regional tourism committee has instructed the city businessmen to work together.—TWA/GNLM
